In late August 2021, one of the most significant sports infrastructure projects in recent years in Latvia was completed – the reconstructed Jānis Daliņš Stadium in Valmiera. This stadium has become an excellent training base and competition venue for athletes, not only in Latvia but also at the international level. The revamped infrastructure of Jānis Daliņš Stadium is suited for organizing high-level competitions and provides athletes with an ideal training base to achieve their highest results and qualify for European and world-level competitions.

The athletics and football stadium is recognized as one of the top five sports infrastructure facilities in Europe and one of the top three in the Baltics. This is evidenced by its European-level infrastructure, which has enabled it to host both UEFA Champions League matches and stages of the European Athletics Championships.
